Here is what I intend to to later this week when I get back to my plane (it's 
in Arkansas waiting for the rain to stop):

1. With the engine at 1400 RPM, check the voltage at the F terminal on the 
regulator. If it's 12 or so, the generator should be charging.

2. If the F terminal doesn't show any voltage, or very little, jumper it to the 
battery - B terminal

3. Check voltage at the A terminal. If it's not 14 or so, then the generator is 
bad. If it is OK, then the regulator is bad.

I am assuming that none of these activities will hurt anything, and will tell 
me which part of the charging system is acting up...
