Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! Fortunately, I'm pretty happy with the existing design on the Sky Sprite, so I don't need to start over; just brightening the blue a bit so folks will stop calling it "black & white" (and maybe adding 1 gold accent stripe). This re-painting is mostly for preservation reasons, stopping the flaking/peeling & small bits of corrosion that started, & getting it properly prep'd. Your questions have been very, very useful toward that end, and I'll be calling the paint guy today for clarification on those. I appreciate your help!
