The paint shop's fee includes the services of an IA to remove the control surfaces (so they can be painted separately) and reassembly after painting, including log book sign-off for return to service. I asked the owner if I could supply specs for the Ercoupe, since I understand there are some unusual things about our rigging (e.g. IIRC, there were some Tech posts about special tension considerations). My experience with other trades suggests that spoon- feeding exactly what is expected will enhance my chances of it being done correctly. The owner readily agreed to my request. So, which booklets, documents (or portions of documents) should I show to that IA to ensure that good Ercoupe practice is followed in reassembly of the control surfaces? (Assume he's not already familiar with Ercoupes.) Thanks!
