The expense in replacing the cable (housing and all) is all the labor involved 
in taking the interior out of the airplane and then reinstalling it.  Depending 
on the interior, they have to remove the side panels, the rear bulkhead and the 
baggage compartment.  Then they have to crawl into the skinny part of the 
fuselage and secure the cable at various points all the way back to the tail.  
If they are not careful and place "planks" to lay on, they can easily dent the 
belly skins.  If I had to guess, I would say the average mechanic could have it 
all done in 5 hours.
