Let me add my comments to the pedal / no pedal discussion. My plane has no
rudder pedals.
1. I like not having pedals due to the added legroom. I love being able to
stretch my legs on long cross country flights. Besides. I have never, ever,
really needed them for flying the thing.
2. I hate not having pedals because it keeps programming my brain cells to be
happy without them. I have so much trouble taxiing and flying other airplanes,
that it's not funny. I love my Ercoupe, but it does not help me building
confidence to fly other airplanes. If I ever were to fit pedals to my plane, I
would go for the Alon system, which controls the front wheel with the rudder
pedals (like 99 % of the planes out there), as opposed to the Erco system,
which retains front wheel control in the yoke.
