I put an X-com in my 415C. It fits high on the panel, has a built in intercom that works great, and I have been very happy with it.
Easy to see, easy to tune.

We have the same radio installed in the same location and the same problem. Hard to read and we need to crouch over to read the numbers. No solution yet other than getting a panel mounted one. We removed an old DG and a newer radio may fit in that opening.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] ICOM A-200 Radio

About 6 months ago I installed a new ICOM A-200 radio in my 1946 415C.
The radio is installed just below the panel to the right of the pilot.
The radio works fine but I have a difficult time reading the frequency numers. In bright daylight I usually have to crouch down and to the right to read the numbers. The radio is new and I do not want to buy another new one, although I think ICOM now offers a new model with a larger display. Do you think I could install an external light or does anyone have another possible solution to my problem. Thanks, Dennis
