In an aircraft (Antique Restoration)
You would use everything exactly as the original. Sometime it takes year of
research to een locate the originak part. With no expense sparred,
everything including fabrics of the period that were not fire retardant. The
word
for restoration means money. You know, like the Boeing that went into the
drink. If you consider when the coupe was built with auto parts and fabrics
that were used in autos. Now just think about it please??? Can you legally
reupholster you coupe in the same TYPE fabric just because it was done then?
Hey let's be practical, We are not talking about a true restoration here
where this is permitted as museum restoration. What we're really talking about
is being safe and legal. So let's cut to the chase. We can't keep saying
"That's how it was then with no TSO's or 337's or regs on it then, so now
we can do this-that or whatever." You're looking for trouble because, and you
would have to agree that there are those that will step too far over the
line. All I can say is.
Fly Right and stay safe
