Welcome! I have been very happy with the AvMap brand GPS, portable
GeoPilot model. It is very thin, easy to use, and I use it velcro'd
to the old glove box cover on my panel, right behind my yoke, and it
does not interfere with the yoke movement at all. It is also very
visible even in bright sunlight (check potential GPS purchases
carefully on this issue, as I briefly owned a Lowrance & returned it
for that reason).

Well, I have done it. Bought a 415CD. I probably will need lots of
support. Lets start with a Garmin. I am open for recommendations
for a hand held. My last plane had one in the panel installed in 1994.
Sugesions are appreciated.
