Hi Linda,

My AP used a black glue/sealant to keep mine in. Just about every other
flight my windows would

pop loose and I would have have to pop them back into the rubber seal. Since
he sealed them I haven't had any issues.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] rear windows

My 'Coupe came with the larger rear windows that are just held in by
the pressure of the black rubber rim, and yesterday I lost one for
the second time in 3 years. I think the problem may be that whoever
cut out the shapes for these windows originally did not precisely
follow the pattern for part of it: a little ~5" stretch along the
front of one edge that gaps very slightly.
1) Has anyone created an STC (or whatever it would take) to devise a
way to add the zillion-little-screws method of attachment to the
large rear windows? Has anyone thought about it and decided it
wouldn't work or would be a bad idea?
2) Once I get someone to install the new window plastic (last time
my A&P said the process was so frustrating he threw a wrench at his
hangar wall so hard it embedded), what about using clear silicone
sealant or some other adhesive to attach the plastic window to the
rubber rim, &/or the rubber rim to the metal of the frame?
