It has been pointed out to me that in the write-up of the steps for restoring oil prime that I posted a few days ago, I said "filter adapter", where I should have called it the "filter" itself. My mistake: the filter looks like a big white canister and has the big hex nut shaped stamping welded onto it that allows using a socket wrench to remove it. The filter screws onto the oil filter adapter. Thanks to those who corrected me.
