The phase of the accident has now been changed to initial climb rather than
approach, putting a different perspective on the accident. The crash site
was only 0.25 km (270 yards) from the departure farm strip.

Looking again at the photos and video footage, the nose gear has taken a lot
of impact and the wings are off. The aircraft finally ended up inverted.
This looks more than a flip on a forced landing, more like it cartwheeled on
the ground to take the wings off like that, perhaps trying to return to the
strip after an engine failure.

Also apologies for putting the workplace of Sousa Monteiro through the
translator earlier. He was Director of the School of Aeronautical Sciences
at Universidade Lusófona which is in Lisbon.
