You're right, of course.  Sorry if I was unclear.

It was not my intention to infer that the rescinded McCauley 
restrictions would ever have been a "production" Ercoupe tach marking.  
An owner can change props as deemed appropriate to the "mission"; and 
as owners change, the "mission" may change.

I did mark my own tach with that range when it applied, though.  Don't 
remember how.
