Why would anyone place a more (questionable) efficient unit in 
for any application with future intent of going back to the former 
installation? 
I'm sure there are circumstances when this might occur. 
You would have to agree that generally this is not the case.
It doesn't make any difference if it's an airplane or a water faucet.
We change things for convenience purposes or even for esthetic appearance.
In many cases cost can be a factor, but airplane people 
will hock their souls to get that certain something even if it's not 
necessary. 
"If it works leave it alone, No matter what!"
 A saying of those who oppose spending money unnecessarily. 
Or what do you need it for? 
My personal thoughts are It's your money.
It's your plane.... Do your thing and be safe?
