The height of the CG in and of itself is not important. What is 
important is the ratio of the height to the width of the gear.

Any tricycle gear plane will exhibit the tendency to straighten out when 
landed in a crab.  OTOH, no tail dragger will, au contraire...

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the nose gear castering 
tendency.  I suspect not all nose gears will do the same thing without 
damage.
