[ercoupe-tech] Air Filter question

Hi all, I just bought a very low time E model plane which has been a hangar 
bunny for a number of years. 
One of the last things I want to to before flying is to clean the air filter. 
This is a circular air filter, same as in the parts and service manuals which 
is fitted to a C85-12 with the stromberg carb. 
Dumb question, but how do you get the air filter element out????
