I have my coupe torn apart in pieces all over the hangar, been working on it
daily for a few weeks now.
I often glanced at the header tank guage, kinda foggy on the inside and hard to
see the wire tip, made a mental note to clean it. Today I looked closely, and
it was not even showing! I thought my float had sunk, pulled the cap and the
cork is dry!
That would mean that I flew it home on fumes, which kicked the ol pacemaker
into overdrive with added turbo boost! I had not watched it closely last time,
just noticed the wing bobbers were still showing some in the wing tanks when I
landed.
It does not appear the wing tanks are any fuller, in case it drained back from
the header. I have been in the hangar with it most every day, NEVER any smell
of fuel. My IA and I are the only ones with a key to the hangar, don't think
the fuel was stolen.
Anybody got any ideas to share?
