I 'always' fly with my windows down and have never had a headset issue.
What type are you using and is the mike boom securely fastened? I use a
David Clark headset with a push-to-talk switch on the yoke.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Too Many Windows

I would appreciate some help on two issues I have not resolved.
The first is that living in a sunny part of the country with all the windows
in the coupe, the light makes my Garmin 296 very hard to read. I have it
turned up to maximum brightness, still I think I need an eybrow or shield to
allow better viewing of it.
The second problem is headsets. I never before used one (always had a hand
held mike and a speaker system), and they just don't seem to stay where they
belong. Wrestling the headset with one hand while trying with the other to
land can be a real pain, several times I was glad I had someone along to
hold the control while I done that, even then, the mike gets too far away
from my mouth, killing it when you don't need it dead, again making you a
one handed flyer. A couple of times on short final I just had to take it off
and land with it in the baggage compartment. Has anyone used a throat mike
and an earbud type setup?
