This is a complete aircraft. The owner bought it in 1992. He flew it twice
and decided to restore it. He had the wings professionally re-covered with
PolyFiber in 1996. He hung the freshly re-covered wings from the rafters of
his barn to keep them safe and dry while he worked on the restoration of the
fuselage. Life got in the way and the fuselage was never touched. I looked at
the main spar through the wing root lightening holes and did not see any
corrosion but your inspection is recommended. The panel has a Directional
Gyro, Whiskey Compass, Artificial Horizon (new style with blue sky background),
Turn and Bank, Altimeter, Vertical Speed Indicator, Airspeed Indicator,
Tachometer, Oil Pressure and Temperature Gauges, Amp Meter and an old Navcom
that is obsolete. The interior is complete but not beautiful. All the windows
need to be replaced. The panel has the original glove box door on the right
side and the left side could be easily converted back to a glove box if you
want to make an original looking panel. The original chrome strips in the
center of the panel are intact and only need to be stripped and polished. This
could be a beautiful "original" Ercoupe panel with a little work. The engine is
a Continental C-75. It is mid-time but after 14 years of non-use I would expect
a top overhaul would be in order. The times are: TT-2298, SMOH-1053, STOH-565.
The propeller is a McCauley 1B90. Complete wheel fairings are on all three gear
with landing lights installed on each main gear leg. Logs complete from 1957 to
the present (first book is missing). The wings you see on the airplane are not
the freshly re-covered wings being sold with the aircraft. See separate
pictures of wings. The fire wall is perfectly straight with no indication of
any damage. There is no damage history in the logs. The plane is in a hangar
at KOWK, Central Maine Airport in Norridgewock, Maine. The plane is currently
loaded on a brand new, custom made trailer with a tilting bed and an electric
winch on the tongue to easily move the aircraft on and off. The price for the
plane is $12,500 or $14,000 with the trailer. Drive to Maine, hook up the
trailer and tow it home.
