Wayne - I'm not sure of the details, but I think a Canadian owner maint. airplane is a real headache, if not an impossibility, to license in the U.S.
Can such a Canadian airplane be returned to "normal" maint. programs up there? If it can, perhaps after a normal annual inspection, it may be imported. But seek the guidance of one who really knows, such as EAA or AOPA.
