Hey Jay: I have not flown an Alon with the 0-200, however, in our 415 -D,
it was possible to overs peed the engine with a 69-48 prop. I could even
over speed it in the 415 at altitudes over 6500' with a 69-50. I found the
performance about the same as the C-85 except for the climb rate which was
better as well as the service ceiling which was about 13 - 14000 with the
0-200.

I am hopefully very close to receiving the final paperwork I need before
putting my 1965 Alon project back in the air. I am curious about what sort
of performance to expect from this plane. It has the O-200 with a McCauley
69-48 prop. If any of you are flying something similar I would enjoy
hearing about cruise speeds, climb rates, fuel burn, etc. Also, I have a set
of wheel pants that I have not installed yet. Would like to have opinions
as to whether they are beneficial when compared to the extra weight.
Thanks! Jay
