I do not think the situation with the spark plug washers is a complicated one,
Eliacim. I think it is a matter of the depth of penetration of the business
end of the plug itself, and the sensor maintains the same thickness between the
plug and the cylinder head as does the crushed plug washer, whichever one you
use,new or annealed.

That's the way I understand it.
Now, every year when doing the annual inspection, we take out the spark plugs
for doing the compression test, inspecting, cleaning and rotating them. The
bottom plugs get either new or annealed washers. The top plugs keep getting the
same old CHT sensors instead of washers. What else are you supposed to do?
Replace the sensors every year, as you do with the spark plug washers?
