No experience with the Rief; but was happy with the oil pan pad on my Cherokee 
6 which I had for 
years. I seemed to always know that I would probably be flying the next day so 
I would plug it in the
night before (100 watts). I also have wide temp swings (Kansas) and used an 
engine dehumidifier
that ran always (on 15 minutes and off 15 minutes with very few watts).
