Problem is it turns into tiny threads (not threads on the fitting, 
threads like in fabric) and when you disassemble the fitting they are 
impossible to get rid of. Then, when you put it together again, the 
threads move into the mechanism. Maybe not a show stopper in a brake 
system, but could be a killer in a fuel system. Anyhow, IMHO, Teflon 
tape is for plumbers and I wouldn't want most plumbers working on my 
plane...
