I purposely left my outside static line out after many recommendations to do so. Keep it simple. My Airspeed and VSI work fine on cabin static air. My VSI and altimeter are both open to cabin air and the needles bounce around so much that the readings are essentially useless. There is a static line coming from the pitot/static tube on the wing. I need to install some T fittings on the metal line and distribute this static source to these instruments, and to my new encoder as the current system, while legal, is a LONG way from best practice.... I believe nylaflo tubing and fittings are certainly usable here..These are avaliable in Spruce, but, unless you have your A&P (or a good relatonship with an A&P) you should probably not do this yourself...Just remember, there are TWO lines there (one static, one pitot don't mix em up) all the best, ///Gene --- In [email protected], "kevinustin" <kevinaustin...@...> wrote: > > I am A new owner of a Ercoupe 415 C that did not cost 52,000 and i want to > replace my VSI and am curious is mine the only one that is not connected to > the airspeed or altimeter and only works by the cabin air.
