Hey John: I have not tried it, but if you were to put (use adhesive) a 1/16 
 spacer behind the pucks wouldn't that solve the problem? The other option 
is to  install thicker brake disks. As I recall, there was a 337 available 
which had  FAA approval to do this, and the disks were available from Fresno 
Airparts for  about $30 bucks apiece.

There you have it. Goodyear brake assemblies  have a positive stop that 
prevents worn pucks from contacting the disk.  The more they wear the 
less pressure on the disk, until eventually, no  braking action and no 
more wear. IIRC, there is only 1/8" (1/16" per puck)  of wear before the 
braking is affected.
