Where did you get the wings covered? I live in Venice and need a set
done. Glenn Putnam

Ah, the things we do to keep ourselve amused. Today, after a few
weeks, or months, of getting my Ercopue annualed and lots of things
fixed, i.e., wings recovered, new flight insturments, I took the
old girl out for a spin. I looked at the map and found that east of
Naples, FL in the middle of the Everglades, sits a 10,000 ft plus
landing strip that I think is there for, well, maybe some political
reasons, but was intended for maybe the "far out" Miami
International Airport of the future, or it may be some kind of
beaureaucratic boondogle. I was too cautious about avoiding a
landing fee so I landed back at the home drome and gave them a call
asking about the ROE for shooting some touch an go's over there. I
was told to come on over, land and get a landing permit good for a
year and then I can use the airport for whatever. I think the place
may have been intended to give the airlines a place to practice
approches and landingd until simulators took over the training
scenario. There is no tower but only a Unicom frequency so I will
report later on how many touch and go's I can shoot on one pass at
this virtually deserted airport. Look up Collier/Dade airport in
Florida. Amazing.
