Hi Rick,

1) This may be too obvious to say, but are you filling the wing tanks
any more full than 2" from the top? If so, fuel can come out the cap
vent opening on climb-out, even taxiing and when sitting on uneven
ground.

2) To check exactly where the fuel drip under the panel was (when I
had one), I used a fresh white paper towel to wipe each of the
suspect areas. The one that was the culprit stained the paper towel
dark blue, from the evaporated fuel residue. In my case, it was very
slight seepage around the escutcheon-like reinforcement at the point
where the valve fitting underneath the tank entered the tank.

HTH,

Linda

Hi guys:

I've got a similar fuel problem, two actually, that may or may not be
related. 1) I'm venting fuel OUT of the left tank cap. Both wing caps &
gaskets are new, as well as the header tank cap/gasket/gauge. When I
shut
down after flying, the fuel level in that tank is down an appropriate
amount. The tank does not appear to be overflowing, and both wing tanks
appear to have fairly equal amounts in them. 2) I'm getting a small fuel
leak (drip-drip-drip) under the panel, possibly at the header tank
fittings
- either from the fuel pump, or overflow TO the left wing tank.

Two unrelated problems? The fuel venting has me puzzled.

Thanks for the help,

Rick Eason
