Are you running auto gas?  If so, try avgas for a while.  It could be a quick
fix. Also, try a mag check (over the airport). Of course it could just be a
carb problem.  Very hard to diagnose, but try the avgas.  That auto gas is
nasty in my opinion.  John

For the third time, my coupe's C85 starts missing after flying at 3/4
throttle for about 10 minutes. Engine RPM was around 2200-2300. Exhaust temp
was about 12,500 when it happened and head temp was 350. The plane just came
out of annual and had all the plugs checked and cleaned. As soon as it starts
to miss I have either pulled the throttle back some or pushed the throttle in.
In all 3 cases either option has worked and the motor stops missing. The plane
then seems to run fine the rest of the flight. I have also given it carb heat
in all 3 cases. I have been flying at around 6000ft (including density
altitude). I read on the forum not too long ago that a fellow coupe pilot has
had some engine missing issues when his exhaust temp got to high. Same
possibility here? I know there is a big issue about where the EHT sensor is
placed. The air temperature in all 3 cases has been around 90 degrees. Any
ideas or suggestions are welcome.
 Thanks!
