Thanks John. After carb heat is applied for a few minutes and then turned back
off I didn't have the problem for the rest of the flight. Although I did fly
at 3/4 throttle some after the incident, I did not stay at that setting for as
long. I was in the air for about 12 minutes before the missing started. Can
carb ice happen that fast? It did not miss again at that throttle during any
part of the three flights. In all three flights the throttle was either
advanced or reduced and carb heat applied.

I was flying at full rich mixture and was on 100ll all 3 times it happened in
the 3 different flights. It happened all in hot weather.

On the ground at 1600 I was getting a right mag drop of around 75 and a left
mag drop of 60 , but that's with a tac that's jumpy and a little hard to read.

I hope this info helps and I will check mags in flight next time I go up.
What is the maximum mag drop to look for rpm wise?

Mark
