. When I turn on the master the needle on the volt meter is slightly below 12. 
After I'm airborn and have time to look at the volt meter it is on 14. It stays 
on 14 while I'm flying. This tells me that the generator is generating. My 
thinking says that this is all I need to know. I think the colors on the dial 
add a nice touch to the panel. A black bezel would be better if you can find 
one.

The volt meter in mine is hideous at best. I recently flew with my 
Fluke meter and it told me that all was right with the world and that 
my volt meter is indeed suitable for politics and not much more. On 
the other hand, you might get lucky and find one that doesn't lie.
