Another idea ---

I purchased a Velcro strip from Home Depot for less than $5.00, cut a strip of
the "loops" tape and stuck it on each of the two pieces of aluminum handles on
the windows.

I cut a strip of ''hooks" tape about 5 inches long and just press the ends to
the "loops", you can adjust it to provide an opening as large as you want, or
you can completely shut the two halves.

WORKS GREAT!

Have someone who knows what they are doing drill and tap the nut to the next
size and fabricate a new thumbscrew. Or if it is a nutplate, just have it
replaced.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Stripped thumb screw

I'm a little embarrassed to raise such a minor issue when such weighty ones are
being discussed but does anyone have a simple solution to a stripped "nut" that
the thumb screw goes into? I've removed the thumbscrew and it looks OK but the
window keeps sliding down because I can't put enough pressure through the
thumbscrew.
