Hey Mac: I have been out of touch since Sunday, so someone else may have mentioned this. I find that a lot of people replace the window welts, but do not put anything between the welt and the thumb screw. This can/will damage the window if you tighten it enough. I always put a piece of aluminum between the welt and the screw. This gives something for the screw to put pressure on other than the window. And allows you to tighten the screw enough to hold the window in whatever position you want. Lynn Nelsen
