Hey Andrea,

thanks for the help. Ok, i uninstalled Eric4 (4.1.1) from synaptic and i saw the latest one at /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/eric4

When i go there with the file manager, i can run eric4.py and the IDE is then shown. But when i go to System/Preferences/main Menu and i add i there at Programming sub-menu, it tells me that:

"Failed to execute child process "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/eric4/eric4.py" (Permission denied)"

How can i do this ?

started Eric for the first time, it informed me that a 4.1.2 version was
available.
 I downloaded it, extracting on my home directory and run the command:
 sudo python install.py

 Although it says Eric was installed, i still has 4.1.1 version...What am i
doing wrong ?
