Hi, i am experimenting same problem in Ubuntu 8.04. The distro already contained pyqt4, so I used synaptic package manager to install eric-api-files but i still do not have the "/usr/share/eric/APIs/" location on my hard disk. I've removed all eric4 related packages from my Ubuntu.
