List,

I believe this got moved off of the list. I am sending it back to share the
fix, just in case anyone else runs into this problem.

Yes!!! That did it. The elevations are now properly shown on the cell
coordinate display in 3D perspective.

Thanks!!!

Subject: RE: DEM Z Scale & Elevation incorrect

Hi Leo,

Have you tried deleting the transform on your height layer? If a transform
is applied to the height layer, this will affect the "Terrain Height" value
reported in the "Cell Coordinates" window, but will not affect the z values
displayed in the "Cell Values Profile" window. If this doesn't help you,
could you please send us the data illustrating the problem, and also your
machine configuration report. You can obtain your machine configuration
report from the ER Mapper main menu:

"Utilities -> Machine Configuration Report"

Original Question:

I have a DEM with Landsat TM 7 draped over the top. Both Files are
.ers (raster data files). When I go to 3D Perspective view the Z Scale (%)
is at 7291, which makes the 3D image look like spikes. I change the Z Scale
(%) to 300, which makes it looks more realistic. When I use the Cell
Coordinate command to check elevation values, the values are low +/- 500
meters. When I check the cell values in the normal view mode the elevations
are correct. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks,
