Hello List,

This is a slightly off topic question, and so please send
replies off-list (to [EMAIL PROTECTED])...

We are searching for software which will allow us to
do topographic surveying using coordinates fed continuously
from an attached DGPS unit...with, ideally, a sort of WYSIWYG
real-time updating of the resulting contour map. We want to use
such a set up for ground survey of archaeological sites.

I had found a package to do this, in public domain, from
a US Army branch several months ago, but (sigh) the web site has
disappeared, and I did not keep any other info. except the URL.

        My questions are the following:

        1) any general recommendations for such software,

        2) any tips from those who have set this sort of system
up before.

        3) anyone recognize the mil software i mentioned above?

        Many thanks,
        Eric
