Yes, but there are a couple of limitations in the current implementation:

1.  View is limited to 4000x4000 pixels.  Many of the plugins transparently
resample up to the real output resolution.
2.  Amount of data used is limited to whatever is received in a "reasonable"
time by the plugin, plus whatever is already in the local cache.  This
"reasonable" time is currently 10secs, so obviously on a slow connection
you're not going to get much data.

Both these limitations are in the ECW SDK, which is used to build the
plugins and ER Mapper, and they are there for various reasons I won't go
into here.  It is possible for a plugin to work around these limitations at
the code level, although none currently do as it requires significant
additional code over a basic plugin.  This is obviously an area for
improvement in the SDK's, but I can't currently give any estimate of when
this is likely to be.
