MicroStation V8 adds native ECW support Perth, Western Australia - February 2002 Earth Resource Mapping is pleased to announce Bentley Systems, Incorporated has become the latest organisation to incorporate native support for Enhanced Compressed Wavelet (ECW) file format into MicroStation� V8. MicroStation users now have the capability of reading large compressed ECW images files. With ECW, MicroStation users can now enjoy the ability to dramatically reduce storage costs by utilizing the compressed wavelet format. Data management can also be significantly improved with the introduction of ECW by the savings in disk space. Bentley joins a league of organisations supporting the spatial industry standard ECW file format.
