Which exactly matches the definition of specific impulse: impulse per
unit mass of propellant.  Makes coding the sims a whole lot easier
when you keep your units straight.

I believe this is called effective exhaust velocity.  Lower than
actual exhaust velocity, but more useful in talking about vehicle
performance.
