In a long-anticipated change of pace, we have decided to publish the Gizmocopter Work Session Notes onto erps-list. Hopefully I will have time to put the previous Work Sessions' notes up on the Gizmocopter web page soon, but we shall see.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ September 26, 2002 Work Session Notes The meeting began at 7:45 and was attended by Nate, Bill, Sarija, Sean, Dave M., Christopher D'urso, several cats and a puppy. Dinner was chicken stir fry. We attempted to drill mounting holes into the new baseplate, but were stymied by some missing PC-104 support bases. The new baseplate was developed in order to move the battery packs out from an enclosed space under the PC-104 stack to allow much better air circulation across the batteries and therefore greater battery cooling. Dave continued his work on the real time Linux code: attempting to integrate the quaternion conversion and rotation operations into the less time critical components of the control code. We are also waiting for a replacement PC-104 CPU from Diamond Systems to address our Disk on Chip issues. We are hoping the PCB will arrive next week. We built a prototype PWM circuit utilizing an NE555, a voltage comparator and a diode-protected 2N2222 transistor. Using a potentiometer in lieu of a DAC we were able to vary the speed of a 3Vdc hobby motor across a wide range without burning up the 2N2222. The session ended at 11:25. The next work session will be held in 2 weeks on October 10th. _______________________________________________ ERPS-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.erps.org/mailman/listinfo/erps-list
