I'll second this. I'm going to beat you there anyway, so why don't you let me pick you up and ride?
If we're going to continue to launch in windy conditions, we need an anemometer, an easily leaned launch tower/rail, and a good 4DOF to tell us how far to lean the rail.
I'm currently working on a new launch tower design for Spike, to be built using the 80/20 extrusions. I am very happy that Dave W turned me on to this stuff. If we decide to continue to fly KISS, it will be applicable to that as well. It will be easy to change the elevation (since the same gear that gives you easy elevation changes also makes erection easy), and being un-stayed and trailer-mounted will allow relatively easy adjustment of the azimuth. Dave Hall's SPLASH software on a laptop should give us the necessary information to point the vehicle in elevation and azimuth.
