The Spike design is a completely clean sheet of paper. Concepts that
worked well on KISS will be used, anything that can be improved will
be. No hardware from KISS will be used on Spike. There is only one
KISS airframe, which undergoes modifications for 1/2/3/3+ versions.
We plan to fly KISS again with a cavitating venturi (after proving it
works during a static test) and much beefier fins. If we can fly with
a full fuel load (10 liters), we may even tickle the Mach1 tigers tail.
<<Engines aside is there
high confidence in the design?>>
We have high confidence in everything we do ;->
The tanks for POGO and Spike will very likely be scratch built. The
POGO tank will be 20 liters, and the initial Spike tank will be 30 liters.
The OD of Spike is 7.66", and the length is TBD. Calculated maximum
velocity should be better than Mach2. After initial Spike flights, I'd
like to design and fly a 65 liter tank.

POGO will use all new airframe and tankage correct? Will it share KISS
components (tested
components) or will everythying be new? Tanks will be OTS or scratch built? >>
