Are there any detailed drawings that could be used for the actual
building of POGO? I'm talking about drawings you could hand to a
machinist and say "build this with these tolerances". Are there
drawings for the flight electronics and mounting details, interfaces and
so on? I'm not sure of current industry standards on how long
development takes, but I am pretty sure that quicker conception to
product times need 3D CAD and other tools to speed the product towards
reality. Would it be real to put a number on development time based on
the industry standard multiplied by certain lacking qualities? I know
this is a volunteer group and people have lives, so allow say a factor
of 4 x time for development of industry standard for that. Now what is
the time penalty for lack of 3D and CNC? Ball park is just fine.
I don't think you can do POGO and Spike at the same time with a end
of next year deadline. I think you would be hard pressed to build POGO
in that time, but it is a possibility.
I will do what I can (remote as I am) for getting POGO done by that
deadline if the group commits to that project.
