Ah - I got the impression from the Analog article that the
electrostatic confinement fusion reactor was, while not even
theoretically capable of power generation (by 9 orders of magnitude
IIRC), a new design, buildable by an amateur, and hence pretty cool.

Anyway, I always get excited when amateurs build working hardware.
