Hmm. The dust-jacket bio says he was propulsion boss for the Titans. That makes him a moderately senior guy circa 1960, so the odds of him still being alive are poor, although it's possible.

Unfortunately, Prentice Hall is still very much around. Moreover, on close inspection, Ring was editor rather than author -- the chapters are by an assortment of authors. (The copyright is by the publisher.)

Doesn't look promising for getting reprint permission, alas.

Agreed. Sigh. I'll supress my rant about how screwed up copyrights have become.
