        That's more or less correct, at least vis-a-vis Matlab stuff. I neither
know, nor really care, how the flight control software is set up -- it's
totally irrelevant to the Matlab model. My model takes the throttle
outputs of the control software as input, and produces sensor readings
for the control system's inputs as output. This is done through the
Matlab API. The nice thing about this is that it can hook into either a
copy of the control software... or to the hardware itself.
