We have never tried this approach, but I'll try to get more information and see if it has any benefits. Its not clear if this could remove large quanties of water, or just the last fraction of 1%, say from 99.5% to 100%.

Is it to be added to the flask while distilling it over (like when using magnesiumperchlorate to produce 100 % H2O2)? Or is it to be added at room temperature, wait next remove the alumina by filtration? What enriched concentrations are thus feasible and what is the required minimum starting concentration? No I got no response when emailing the company, many months ago.
