Mutating use of __proto__ can be found in https://github.com/jdalton/fusejs as 1 of the 3 techniques used. The __proto__ fork is only being used by Safari (because of a loong time iframe bug https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25079) as well as possible server side usage.
