This construction for Identity Escape goes back to Norbert's original proposal http://norbertlindenberg.com/2012/05/ecmascript-supplementary-characters/index.html Perhaps we need to add a: ClassAttom[U] :: [+U] \- production or some such to the pattern grammar.
