For synapse, I was trying to build the war distribution, on 1.2.  All of the
relative path names were wrong, I had to go through and correct them all.  I
also had an issue where I needed to add the woden-api dependency to synapse
core.

For carbon, I've already sent emails to that list with a few of the build
issues that come up.  First was a problem with the custom
maven-source-plugin (it's commented out in trunk, now), and there were a few
spots where dependencies weren't listed (I would have to go back through to
find all of these again, but the one I mentioned in an email was that the
org.wso2.carbon.user.core project pom was missing the dependency that
provides the javax.xml.stream package - this seems to be fixed now).  I was
building Carbon from trunk.

Do you guys build against the same repositories using the same poms that are
publically available?  With maven, build problems like these are always a
little surprising, I would expect them to just work.
